A house was destroyed by fire in the Shingletown area overnight. Shingletown volunteers with help from Cal-Fire out of Shingletown, Whitmore and Palo Cedro responded at 10:30PM Tuesday night to Topaz Lane. The structure was nearly a total loss, with damage estimated at $50,000. It apparently started as an attic fire. One man was displaced and is being assisted by the Red Cross.
