Young Mother Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle In Eureka

A mother was killed while pushing her baby in a stroller across a street in Eureka. At 11:45PM Saturday night 25-year-old Kelsey Diffin was pushing the stroller with her 6-month-old baby across Broadway Street in Eureka when she was struck by an SUV. The infant was not injured. The driver didn’t see the mother and child in time in the darkness, and police say they were some distance from the nearest crosswalk. The driver has not been charged.
