Bethel Church Suspends Faith Healing At Hospitals Due To Coronoavirus

Members of Bethel Church have apparently been told to suspend their practice of visiting local hospitals to offer faith healing. That’s according to a Sacramento Bee article. The Redding mega-church is well known for its belief in healing the sick and even raising the dead through the power of prayer. In light of the Coronavirus threat, Bethel Church leaders are now advising their members to wash their hands, stay home if they feel sick, cancel missionary trips and refrain from visiting hospitals on prayer missions. They have not yet taken the step of canceling services for the congregation. There are 2,400 students enrolled in the School of Supernatural Ministry, which meets at the Civic Auditorium, as well as around 9,100 additional members in the Redding area. Church founder Bill Johnson acknowledges that praying to be healed does not always work.
