Traffic was snarled after a collision involving a school bus Wednesday morning at a busy crossroads in South Redding. Shortly before 9 O’clock the Redding Elementary School District bus was westbound carrying 13 Enterprise High School students when it collided with a Honda Accord and a Honda Pilot in the intersection of South Bonnyview and Bechelli. The driver of the Accord, 52-year-old Kawaljeet Kaur, was transported to Mercy Hospital complaining of pain. The driver of the Pilot, 34-year-old Linh Le, was not hurt. The bus sustained significant damage to the front right corner, buckling the main door and forcing the students to evacuate out the emergency exit. One student on the bus had minor injuries. CHP Officer Javier Garcia says somebody had a red light, it’s just not clear yet who violated the right of way. He says officers were going to review footage from a dash cam on the bus, and talk to witnesses. It took some time to clear the wrecked vehicles and the significant amount of shattered safety glass and car parts strewn about the roadway.
