Governor Cancels Standardized Testing, Says Schools May Not Open Until After Summer

Nearly every public school in Shasta County is closed. Most are tentatively planning to be back in session April 14th, following Spring Break. The Governor has canceled standardized testing, and has expressed doubts that any California schools would reopen until after Summer Vacation. He also has promised that the state will continue funding schools during closure. Most schools have online activities for their students, and some, including Shasta College and Simpson University, are actually conducting classes online.
