Local Community Helps Supply Much Needed PPE

As the medical community runs short of personal protective equipment, Shasta County Health and Human Services is asking for donations of N95 masks, surgical masks, face shields, clear safety goggles, thermometers, nitrile gloves, medical gowns, sanitation cloths, toilet paper and paper towels. They’ve gotten a great response, with generous donations from Harbor Freight, Sierra Pacific, dentists offices, and individuals with Carr Fire leftovers. Meanwhile local seamstresses are busy making masks and gowns. The goods should be taken to a drop off point at Bethel Church Monday through Friday between 9AM and 4PM. Shasta Community Health Center is also asking for personal protective equipment donations, which they can accept directly at their clinic at the corner of Placer and Continental.
