The man who was found dead inside a converted garage building that was gutted by fire Tuesday morning in East Redding has been identified by the Shasta County Coroners Office as 51-year-old Christopher Wayne Robison of Redding. His next of kin has been notified. The building is located next to a house on Leonard Street off Hartnell near the Hen House. Redding Firefighters arrived at 7:45AM to find the building well involved with fire. The original detached garage building had been highly modified into an L-shaped structure with a cavernous interior, and with the inside full of flames and the roof on the verge of collapse, firefighters had to make an exterior attack. Then they learned from the homeowners that someone had been living inside the structure. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire department and Redding Police are still investigating the circumstances of Robison’s death.
