A price gouging investigation is being pursued by the Tehama County District Attorney’s Office after reports that a store had seriously jacked up the price of facemasks. Following complaints about the price of N95 masks, D.A. Investigators arrived Tuesday with a search warrant at Amazing Finds on Cedar Street in Red Bluff. About a thousand masks were seized, along with business records showing that prior to the governor’s state of emergency declaration, the masks were priced at around the national average. After the declaration, the price was apparently increased by around 400%. Any increase of more than 10% is considered gouging. Anyone who has purchased 3M-brand N95 masks from Amazing Finds over the past six months is asked to call the D.A.’s Office at 527-3590.
