The Latest Local Numbers On Covid-19

21 Shasta County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, and three have died from the virus. A man in his 90s tested positive Monday. He’s apparently a resident of the Redding Veterans Home on Knighton Road. Cal-Vet says three staff members at the home have also tested positive. The resident has been moved to an isolation wing at the Home.

Members of Faith Assembly Church on Airport Road in Redding may be at a higher risk of exposure after an unexpectedly high number of cases have been linked to that church, according to Public Health officials. Members of the church who attended an event there on March 14th or 15th should inform all their close contacts that they may have been exposed. Public Health Branch Director Brandy Isola says church leaders have been diligent in notifying their congregation.

Two patients, the first and third diagnosed, have recovered, leaving 16 active cases. 462 covid tests in Shasta County have shown negative results. 71 people are currently under quarantine orders due to possible exposure to an infected person.
A female Shasta College student in her 20s who apparently contracted the virus while traveling out of state may have exposed others while at the Shasta College Health Sciences building in downtown Redding on March 12th.

Tehama County has one confirmed coronavirus case. Siskiyou County now has four and Butte County has 12. Humboldt County has 49. There are none reported in Trinity, Lassen or Modoc counties.
