Motorcyclist Reportedly Fires Shot At Deputy In Humboldt County

FORTUNA, Calif. (AP) – The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office says a person shot at a sheriff’s deputy and got away on a motorcycle. A statement says the deputy was on patrol at 1:18AM Monday in the area of Highway 36 and Demello Road and observed a motorcycle that appeared to be disabled. A passenger on the motorcycle fired a shot that struck the patrol vehicle’s windshield, causing minor injuries to the deputy. The motorcycle took off at high speed on Highway 36 and the deputy gave chase but lost sight of it due to weather and road conditions.
