Council To Local Discuss Economic Stimulus

The Redding City Council will be voting on an economic stimulus package during their meeting on Tuesday. It includes another refund to Redding Electric Utility customers, and a utility grant program for commercial customers. Another part of the package would fast-track some deferred maintenance projects, saving energy and putting local contractors and support businesses to work. The Shasta County Economic Development Corporation estimates the projects would generate 328 new jobs and $30 Million of economic impact. The council has moved to a virtual format. Agendas and staff reports are posted at cityofredding.org. That’s where instructions can be found to watch the meetings by live stream. They’ll also be aired live on the Community Access TV Channel, which is channel 181 on Charter Spectrum Cable. Public comments can be submitted by regular mail or emailed to [email protected].
