Friday Update: 28 Cases Of COVID-19 Reported In Shasta County

Shasta County’s Coronavirus count is now up to 28 after another patient tested positive Thursday. The man in his 50’s is recovering at home. That follows a positive test of a teenage girl on Wednesday. Three people have died from the virus and 5 are still sick. Public health is no longer reporting the number of recovered patients. 1166 Covid tests in Shasta County have shown negative results. 19 people are currently under quarantine orders due to possible exposure.

Testing has become more widely available in Shasta County, and both major hospitals now have rapid testing capability. Anyone with a fever, cough and shortness of breath should request a test from their healthcare provider or public health at 225-5591.

Tehama County’s only confirmed Coronavirus patient has died. Butte County has had 16 cases, with 3 still active. Siskiyou County has 5, but all have recovered. Glenn County has had 4, with just one still active. There have been 52 cases in Humboldt County, where they will begin requiring everyone to wear masks in public. There are still none reported in Trinity, Lassen or Modoc Counties.
