Northstate Leaders Send Letter To Newsom Asking To Open The Economy

A number of North State elected officials and civic leaders have sent a letter to Governor Newsom in hopes of restarting the area’s economy that has been shutdown due to the Corornavirus. The letter from officials in six Northern California counties is asking the Governor to lift the stay-at-home order in accordance with their respective local and regional plans. The letter states that infection rates have remained low in the six counties (Yuba, Sutter, Butte, Glenn, Tehama, and Colusa), which have a combined population of more than 500,000 residents. Both Senator Jim Nieslen and Assemblyman James Gallagher made statements in support of the effort to reopen the shuttered economy.
