Monday Update: Elderly Man Passes Away From COVID-19

There were no new cases of cases of Coronavirus over the weekend but one more death was reported on Friday. The coroners office confirmed that a patient his 90’s passed away bringing the total number of deaths to 4. The number of confirmed cases remains at 30. There were 2 cases reported on Friday. A woman in her 30’s and a woman in her 20’s tested positive and both are isolating at home. Public health is no longer reporting the number of recovered patients. 1314 Covid tests in Shasta County have shown negative results. 16 people are currently under quarantine orders due to possible exposure. Testing has become more widely available in Shasta County, and both major hospitals now have rapid testing capability. Anyone with a fever, cough and shortness of breath should request a test from their healthcare provider or public health at 225-5591.

Tehama County’s only confirmed Coronavirus patient has died. Butte County has had 16 cases, with 2 still active. Siskiyou County has 5, but all have recovered. Glenn County has had 5, with just one still active. There have been 53 cases in Humboldt County, where they will begin requiring everyone to wear masks in public. There are still none reported in Trinity, Lassen or Modoc Counties.
