National Wildfire Preparedness Day is this Saturday May 2nd. The Redding Fire Department and Parks Department will be working a fuels reduction project in West Redding. The project is planned for along Teton Drive off of Buenaventura Boulevard. Crews will be removing vegetation, trimming trees, mowing weeds, and burning piles to get ready for fire season. This comes as the outdoor burning season for Redding is coming to an end. Redding Fire Department will end the season on Sunday May 3rd at 5PM. Residents are urged to continue to clear defensible space around their properties.
