Fire At Substation Causes Large Scale Power Outage

There was a large scale power outage in Tehama County Tuesday afternoon. PG&E experienced a small fire at a substation south of Cottonwood, prompting them to shut off the power to the station. That left around 19,000 customers without electricity to the south stretching all the way to Vina, including all of Red Bluff and the surrounding area. Most customers were restored by 6:30PM Tuesday night.
