State Approves Shasta County’s Plan To Move Into Phase 2

State Public Health Officials have approved Shasta County’s variance to allow a wider re-opening of businesses including most retail stores, dine-in restaurants, shopping malls, office-based businesses and more. Also included are car washes, pet grooming, and tanning salons. Most parks, trails and golf courses may open. Routine medical care, dental care and optometry may resume. Childcare is allowed for small groups, and Shasta County schools are set to reopen August 10th. Supply chains for those businesses are also open. Some of what’s not yet allowed are gyms, movie theaters, bars, professional sports, hair or nail salons, tattoo parlors, libraries, playgrounds, concerts or churches. People should wear masks when visiting any public place. Non-essential travel should be avoided and vulnerable people over age 65 should stay at home as much as possible.
