The latest in a long series of big events to be canceled due to the pandemic is the biggest Shasta County cancellation so far. The 2020 Shasta District Fair will not happen. The fair board and management decided that everything about the fair would be in violation of state guidelines encouraging social distancing and discouraging contact with people, especially from outside the area. Staff is working on refunding vendors and exhibitors. A lot of 4-H and F.F.A. students are deeply disappointed, but the board is still determined to go on with the Junior Livestock Sale in some form or another on June 27th. That plan has not yet been hammered out.
