Mount Shasta Police arrested a stabbing suspect Wednesday afternoon. Just before 4 O’clock a 9-1-1 call brought officers to a location off Pine Street in Mount Shasta City. They found a victim with multiple stab wounds and cuts to his torso, and he was taken to Mercy Mount Shasta in unknown condition. The suspect, 32-year-old Benjamin Kempf, was seen by Mount Shasta Firefighters as he was walking into the woods. He was captured with help from deputies and the CHP, and booked into jail for assault with a deadly weapon.
