Thursday Update: 4 New Cases In Butte County, None In Shasta County

There have still been no additional COVID-19 cases identified in Shasta County since Saturday, with the total remaining at 34. The three most recent cases have been men showing no symptoms. 4 Shasta County residents have died. 10 people are quarantined due to possible exposure.

Tehama County has had 2 cases, including one death. Trinity County has revised their number from two to one, as a patient was attributed to Humboldt County, where there have been 88 cases, with two deaths. Butte County has 4 more cases for a total of 30, including one believed to be contracted during a church service in Palermo on Mothers Day. Siskiyou County now has had 6. Glenn County has had a dozen. There are still none reported in Lassen or Modoc Counties.

Officials are encouraging everyone to get tested. 3,366 tests have shown negative results in Shasta County. Anyone, even with no symptoms, can get tested for free at a Covid testing station at Shasta College or at the Red Bluff Community Center or at Corning High School. If insurance doesn’t cover the cost, the state will. Appointments must be made online at lhi.care/covidtesting.
