CHP: Big Rig Driver May Have Suffered Medical Condition Before Crash

The CHP is awaiting an autopsy to determine if a trucker was already dead when he was run over on Interstate Five in Anderson early Monday morning. At around 4AM the 55-year-old man from Fresno was southbound in a tractor-trailer near Deschutes Road when his truck took out about 500 feet of guardrail. It’s not known why he veered into the guardrail, and it’s possible he may have been experiencing a medical issue. He stopped, got out of his cab and fell to the roadway before another big rig came along and ran over him. That trucker called in the report to dispatch. Traffic was diverted onto Anderson surface streets for more than 2 hours while the CHP investigated. Anyone with information is asked to call the CHP at 225-0500.
