RPD: Drunk Woman Rescued After Falling Off Cypress Bridge

A drunk woman was plucked from the Sacramento River Thursday, and then arrested for being drunk. Police say Mary Pruitt had been playing on the railing of the Cypress Bridge when she lost her grip and fell into the chilly water far below. Incredibly, Pruitt was not injured and she was rescued by the fire and police departments working together. The bridge was closed during the rescue. Pruitt was then arrested for public intoxication and a parole violation.
