Shasta County has now had 40 confirmed Coronavirus cases, the latest being a man in his 60’s. 4 people have died and 6 are in isolation. 24 people are quarantined due to possible exposure. Butte County has had a total of 51 cases with one death. Tehama County has had new cases on two consecutive days, for a total of 6 with one fatality. Trinity County has had one case. Humboldt County is up to 102, with two deaths. There have been 8 in Siskiyou County, 46 in Del Norte County, 17 in Glenn County and 5 in Lassen County. There are still none reported in Modoc County.
The only social gatherings currently permitted are limited church services and public protests. People are strongly advised to wear face coverings. Guidance for businesses to reopen can be found at shastaready.org.
Officials are encouraging everyone to get tested for COVID-19, especially workers who come into contact with the public. 5,229 tests have shown negative results in Shasta County. Anyone, even with no symptoms, can get tested for free at a Covid testing station at Shasta College or at the Red Bluff Community Center or at Corning High School. If insurance doesn’t cover the cost, the state will. Appointments must be made online at lhi.care/covidtesting.
