One person was killed and two others injured in a crash on Highway 299 east of Redding on Friday afternoon. Just before 2 O’clock a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup was westbound west of Moose Camp Road when it crossed into the oncoming lane and hit the driver’s side of a 2015 Toyota Corolla. The pickup continued off the roadway and into a field before colliding with a tree about 75 feet off the highway. The driver of the pickup died at the scene. The 78-year-old female driver of the Toyota was flown to Mayers Memorial Hospital, and the 60-year-old female passenger was taken by ground ambulance. They both suffered moderate injuries.
