4 people were cited for providing alcohol to a minor decoy as Redding Police conducted both types of stings on Saturday. Underage people working with police were sent into retail stores attempting to make purchases without an I.D. The purchases were successful at the Circle K on Westwood Avenue and the Chevron on Churn Creek Road near Savemart. The two clerks were cited and face fines and community service. Police did not say how many stores passed the test by refusing to sell. The other type of sting involves the minor approaching customers in a store parking lot and asking them to take their money to buy booze for them. Two men, both 29-years-old, agreed to make the purchases.
