Man Arrested Nearly A Year After Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash

Redding Police have made an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run of a pedestrian from last year. On the evening of last December 20th, the body of 50-year-old Daniel Eric Kihm was found on the west side of South Market Street near Angelo Avenue. Redding Police said it appeared that Kihm had been walking on the south shoulder of Market Street and was struck by a vehicle, but no witnesses came forward. About a week after the collision an abandoned vehicle was found near Court and Gold Streets that looked like it had struck a pedestrian. Investigators then established 31-year-old William Allen McKee as a possible suspect. On Tuesday officers with the Neighborhood Police Unit arrested McKee on an unrelated felony warrant, and he was questioned about last year’s incident. McKee has been booked into jail for felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter.
