Redding Woman Killed In Crash Near Corning Identified

The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of a woman that was killed in a fiery crash last Monday morning on Interstate 5 in the Corning area. At around 5:30AM, 33-year-old Brittnie Lahue of Redding was behind the wheel of a northbound Toyota Land Cruiser that veered sharply across the median next to Rolling Hills Casino and into the southbound lanes, directly into the path of a tractor-trailer driven by Daniel Joosten of Colorado. He hit his brakes but the SUV hit him head-on and both vehicles slid onto the grass shoulder and quickly became fully engulfed in flames. Lahue was unable to get out of the Toyota and died in the fire. The trucker was able to climb out his windshield and escape uninjured.
