$3 Million In CARES Act Funding Distributed In Shasta County

Businesses and non-profit organizations in Shasta County have claimed the entire $3 Million worth of CARES Act grants allocated by the county from its share of federal funding. The money went to 297 for-profit businesses and 73 non-profits. Next week the Redding Chamber of Commerce and county officials will ask the Board of Supervisors to allocate another One Million Dollars to help more businesses, including some that are already on the waiting list. Applications and details on eligibility can be found at reddingchamber.com/shastacountycaresgrant. The County’s Roadmap To Recovery Advisory Committee is pleading with the state to allow restaurants to serve people indoors on a limited capacity. Currently only take out and delivery is allowed.
