Jobs are coming back for Shasta County at a fairly steady pace, with October showing a 1.1% improvement over September. Last month the county had a 6.9% rate and the labor force increased by 3,400 people. Shasta County showed improvement in nearly every industry category. Tehama County had a 7.2% rate. It was 6.3% in Trinity County and 7.3% in Siskiyou County. Economic recovery is on a better track for rural counties than the state at large, which showed an October jobless rate of 9%. Shasta County’s rate peaked at 15.6% in April.
