A man from Mexico has been found dead in Trinity County, and authorities are investigating. At 4:45PM Friday afternoon someone called 9-1-1 saying that a shooting had occurred near Highway 36. Deputies tracked down the reporting party, who had apparently fled the scene to avoid law enforcement. Authorities were then directed to a property in Trinity Pines, where they found the body of 29-year-old Raul Zamora Franco, who had suffered a gunshot wound. A search warrant turned up several guns, as well as electronic items that will be searched for useful information. The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office says it’s not yet clear if Franco was murdered or died as a result of an accident.
