A wanted parolee didn’t provide much of a challenge for Redding Police early Tuesday morning. Officer Tim Jaegel found two people passed out in a car in a gas station parking lot on Eureka Way. The driver, 56-year-old Charles French, is on post release supervision and had an active warrant. The person passed out in the backseat was allowed to leave, but French was detained while the car was searched. A loaded 9 millimeter handgun was sitting on the front passenger seat, and drug smoking devices were reportedly found as well. French was booked into jail on multiple charges.
