A man was arrested for DUI after a crash left two people dead in Tehama County Wednesday morning. The CHP says 26-year-old Ryan Cantrell was driving a Ford Fusion southbound on Highway 36 near Tuscan Avenue at a high rate of speed when he allowed the car to go off the road. The car hit a ditch and went airborne before it crashed into a tree. A 32-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, both from Los Molinos, were killed. Cantrell and a passenger, 21-year-old Jordan Cordell Suggs, both were hospitalized with major injuries. Cantrell was also arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
