Heavy winds caused trouble for Cal-Fire crews fighting a vegetation fire north of Shasta Lake City. It was located north of Toyon about 2 miles up Digger Bay Road. The fire may have rekindled from burn piles that were being torched by Cal-Fire crews Tuesday. It was contained at just over 2 acres.
Cal-Fire crews have contained a couple of roadside fires between Anderson and Cottonwood. They started just after 9AM on the steep hill on the east side of Interstate 5. Another small fire started at around the same time on the same side of the freeway a few miles south near Hooker Creek Road. It’s not known if the fires were related.
