A stolen pickup truck was recovered after a sharp eyed deputy recognized it in Redding Saturday afternoon. At around 4:15PM the deputy was on Twin View Boulevard when he saw the Ford F-150 that had been reported by Redding Police as a stolen vehicle. The deputy lost sight of the truck but soon found it parked at a home on Crooked Oak Lane. Witness statements identified the driver as 36-year-old Joshua Dean Passieux. The deputy was told that he was hiding in a camp trailer on the property. The deputy told him to come out, but because of Passieux’s criminal history involving weapons, he didn’t want to go in after him. Fritz the K9 went inside and helped apprehend Passieux. He had a fixed blade knife in his waistband, but he didn’t use it. After being treated for his dog bites he was booked into jail.
