A Shasta County burglar who’s been labeled a chronic offender has been arraigned on new charges. J. Tucker Bellegante has a long history with local law enforcement, and has been arrested many times in the Intermountain area. He was one of the first people to be entered into the Chronic Offender Accountability Program in 2018, when he was sentenced to 3 years, 8 months in state prison. He was released in March of 2020 but apparently rehabilitation was not achieved through his term in prison. Last week he was arraigned on a misdemeanor violation of his Post Release Supervision. On Wednesday he was back in court to be arraigned on four felony counts involving stolen cars and burglary tools as a result of car thefts on December 23rd and 29th. He’s being held in jail with no bail pending his next court appearance.
