Man Sentenced For DUI Crash That Left Daughter Injured

A Tehama County man has been sentenced after trying to let his wife take the blame for a drunk driving crash that injured their daughter. The CHP responded to a report of a crash and a woman told them she had been driving drunk with her 8-year-old daughter in her lap and her husband, 46-year-old Thomas Lanford, in the passenger seat. Officers went to the family’s home, where Lanford admitted he had been the driver. The daughter confirmed that. She had suffered an orange-sized bump on her head from the crash. Lanford has been given a 5 year 8 month prison sentence, suspended in lieu of 270 days in county jail and 4 years formal probation.
