Man Faces Federal Charges Under “Project Safe Neighborhoods”

A Shasta County drug and weapons case is being taken over by the feds. 26-year-old Tyson Farrell was arrested last September by Redding Police, allegedly in possession of a rifle, ammunition and a small amount of Heroin. At the time Farrell was on Post Release Supervision from a car theft conviction. State charges were dismissed Thursday as Ferrell was turned over to federal custody to be charged under the “Project Safe Neighborhoods” initiative. He’ll face significantly harsher penalties in federal court.
