Butte County Moves Into The Red Tier, Case Rate Improves In Shasta County

Shasta County Public Health reported 34 new Covid cases from Sunday and Monday, along with 459 negative tests. The county death toll remains at 179. The total number of cases so far is 11,171. An estimated 136 people have the virus right now, 9 of them hospitalized and 4 in intensive care.

Shasta County’s adjusted case rate has dropped from 10 to 5.9 daily cases per 100,000 residents. The positivity rate has improved from 3.9% to 2.5%. The county remains in the red tier of restrictions.

Workers in restaurants, grocery stores and food banks are now eligible to receive vaccine.

Several first dose and second dose vaccination clinics are set for this week. Information is available at shastaready.org under “Vaccinations”.

Tehama County has reported 5,136 cases and 52 deaths.
There have been 375 cases and 5 deaths in Trinity County.
1,815 have been reported in Siskiyou County with 14 deaths.
Butte County is now in the red tier. They’ve reported 169 deaths among their 10,876 cases.
Lassen County has had 22 deaths among their 2,033 cases in the community and 2 deaths among the 3,596 cases in prison.
Humboldt County has had 3,317 cases and 34 deaths.
Modoc County has had 460 cases and 4 deaths.
