Crews Remove Over 13,000 Pounds Of Trash From Redding Waterways

A lot of debris left behind by illegal campers was hauled out of a couple of Redding waterways Thursday. The Redding Police Community Work Program, using labor provided by inmates with the Shasta County Sheriff’s Alternative Work Program, cleaned up the area of the A.C.I.D. Canal near Crown Motors and Churn Creek where it runs under Hartnell avenue near Alta Mesa. A total of 13,820 pounds of trash, debris and abandoned belongings was gathered and hauled away.
