Puppies Rescued As NPU And SINTF Agents Serve Drug Warrant

Redding Police have served a search warrant at a home outside city limits because they believed the resident had been selling drugs in Redding parks. The Neighborhood Police Unit was investigating ongoing heroin sale, and tips led them to the home of 53-year-old Tony Denell Thompson on Magee Acres Way off Quartz Hill Road just north of town. Wednesday afternoon Thompson was detained during a traffic stop and officers were joined by SINTF Agents as they proceeded to Thompson’s home. A juvenile girl at the home was found to have a protective custody warrant and she was turned over to child family services. A search reportedly turned up 2 ounces of Heroin, 3 ounces of Methamphetamine and a Butane Honey Oil lab. There were also several female dogs and dozens of puppies. Thompson was booked into jail.
