Shasta County Reports 1 COVID-19 Death On Thursday

A Shasta County man in his 40s has died of Coronavirus. The virus has killed 195 Shasta County residents. 29 new cases have been reported, along with 1,046 negative tests. The total number of cases so far is 11,113. An estimated 82 people have the virus right now, 7 of them hospitalized and 1 in intensive care. Shasta County’s daily case rate has dropped from 5.9 to 5 per 100,000 residents.

Many more people are eligible to receive a vaccine, including food and agriculture workers and people with severe health conditions. Several first dose and second dose vaccination clinics are scheduled. Information is available at shastaready.org under “Vaccinations”.

The CDC says people who’ve been vaccinated for COVID-19 can enjoy small private gatherings again without masks, but should keep wearing a mask and social distancing in public.

Tehama County has reported 5,213 cases and 53 deaths.
There have been 381 cases and 5 deaths in Trinity County.
1,846 have been reported in Siskiyou County with 14 deaths.
Butte County has reported 171 deaths among their 10,963 cases.
Lassen County has had 22 deaths among their 2,036 cases in the community and 2 deaths among the 3,598 cases in prison.
Humboldt County has had 3,406 cases and 35 deaths.
Modoc County has had 467 cases and 4 deaths.

Around 74 million people, more than 22% of the U.S. population, have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine
