Person Suffers Burns During Downtown Motel Fire

Somebody suffered severe burns before being rescued from a fire at a Downtown Redding motel Tuesday evening. Redding Firefighters were dispatched a little before 6 O’clock to the Sundial Lodge just south of the North Market Street Bridge. Witnesses told arriving fire personnel that a woman was still inside the upstairs room. The condition or identity of the victim is not known Wednesday morning. Damage is estimated at $50,000 to the building and $10,000 worth of contents. The cause is still under investigation.
