A Redding man has been arrested after reportedly abusing his mother and threatening to shoot his neighbors. At 6:15PM Thursday night Redding Police were sent to Ashley Court near Juniper School. There were reports that 34-year-old Donald Bird had been violent with his mother over the previous 24 hours and prevented her from calling the police. On Thursday she fled to a neighbor’s home, and Bird reportedly followed her and threatened to shoot her and the neighbor too. Bird returned to his home and refused answer the phone for police. Eventually the new RPD armored vehicle was used and Bird surrendered.
