2 Additional COVID-19 Deaths Reported In Shasta County

Shasta County reported two additional covid deaths on Thursday. Public health says a man in his 50s and a man in his 70s died from the virus bringing the total number of deaths to 212. Shasta County has reported 5 covid deaths this month. 16 new cases were reported on Thursday for a total of 11,496. 5 people are hospitalized and 2 are in intensive care. Public health estimates there are 105 active cases in Shasta County.

More California counties are opening up vaccines to younger adults, a week ahead of the state’s schedule. At the same time, California Public Health officials warned Thursday of decreases in supply because of a national reduction of the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The state has received about 2.4 Million doses this week, but it expects 2 Million next week and 1.9 Million doses the week after. Anyone is Shasta County 16 and older is eligible for the Pfizer vaccine. Parents must be present when the child is vaccinated. Information can be found at shastaready.org.

Tehama County has reported 5,359 cases and 56 deaths.
There have been 393 cases and 5 deaths in Trinity County.
1,894 have been reported in Siskiyou County with 16 deaths.
Butte County has reported 178 deaths among their 11,210 cases.
Lassen County has had 22 deaths among their 2,062 cases in the community and 2 deaths among the 3,594 cases in prison.
Humboldt County has had 3,508 cases and 36 deaths.
Modoc County has had 482 cases and 4 deaths.
