A Trinity County man has died after crashing into the Trinity River over the weekend. The 52-year-old man from Big Bar had last spoken to his wife at 11:30PM Friday night. His Jeep Cherokee was found in the river between Big Bar and Big Flat at 8:15AM Saturday morning, and he was found deceased. The CHP says he had been westbound when his right wheels drifted onto the soft gravel shoulder. He then apparently overcorrected, causing the Jeep to shoot across the eastbound lanes and launch into the river.
