Two Shasta County men in their 70s have died from Covid, bring the death toll to 216. An additional 53 cases were reported, as well as 995 negative tests. There have been 11,627 cases so far. An estimated 143 people have the virus right now, 6 people are hospitalized and one is in intensive care. The county’s case rate has decreased from 7.4 to 5.8 daily cases per 100,000 residents. If that can be maintained, the county could move from the red to the orange tier of restrictions next week.
Vaccine is free of charge and any Shasta County resident 16 and older is eligible for the Pfizer vaccine. Parents must be present to vaccinate anyone younger than 18. Many appointments are available for a first and second dose Pfizer clinic this Friday at Shasta College. Appointments can be made through myturn.ca.gov . Tehama County has reported 5,393 cases and 56 deaths.
There have been 398 cases and 5 deaths in Trinity County.
1,924 have been reported in Siskiyou County with 21 deaths.
Butte County has reported 181 deaths among their 11,320 cases.
Lassen County has had 22 deaths among their 2,073 cases in the community and 2 deaths among the 3,593 cases in prison. Lassen County moved into the yellow tier on Tuesday.
Humboldt County has had 3,572 cases and 36 deaths.
Modoc County has had 489 cases and 4 deaths.
