If Robbery Pays So Little, May As Well Get A Real Job

A robber- or possibly two robbers- in Gerber apparently haven’t been selecting victims very well. At 6:35 Wednesday morning a man was approached on Ventura Avenue by a thin man dressed in black with a ski mask over his face. He pulled out a pistol and told the victim he would shoot him if he didn’t give him everything in his pockets. The victim had nothing in his pockets and that’s exactly what the robber got, and he fled. He was described as a white man in his 20s, about 5’9″ and 120 to 140 pounds. Another hold up was reported on the same street at about the same time and the description was identical, except that it was a black man. In that case, the victim was getting ready for work when the robber pointed a gun at him and demanded cash. The victim gave up the $40 in his pocket and the robber fled on foot. Anyone with information should contact the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office.
