Rash Of Catalytic Convertor Thefts Reported Across The North State

Catalytic convertors are becoming a hot item for thieves in Northern California. Last Friday Yreka Police reported that their officers noticed drug paraphernalia in an unoccupied car that was idling at the Yreka Rite Aid. They also saw several catalytic convertors that had been cut out of various cars, along with two battery operated cutting tools. A total of seven catalytic convertors were in the car, and when the car’s owner returned, he had some answering to do. Anderson Police have also taken reports on several catalytic convertor thefts in recent months. They’d like to hear from anyone else who has experienced a similar theft.
