A driver ran his pickup into a work truck in a construction zone on Bechelli Lane Wednesday morning. It happened at around 6AM near Loma Vista and Cheryl Drive. A Ford F450 construction vehicle was moving along slowly in the construction zone when the driver of a 2002 Ford F150 pickup came from the north at an unknown speed and slammed into the back of the larger truck. Police say drugs may have been a factor. The unidentified driver was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered major injuries. He was transported to Mercy Hospital. The two workers in the other truck had minor injuries. The southbound lane of Bechelli was closed for an extended time.
