Former Soccer Coach Arrested After Violating Probation

A former soccer coach who avoided prison time with a plea deal on child pornography charges has blown the terms of the deal less than a week later, according to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office. 33-year-old Ian Thomas Anderson worked briefly as a women’s soccer coach at Simpson University in 2018 and was an assistant manager at Soccer Kraze, a Redding sporting goods store. While at the store he met his 16-year-old victim and then contacted her on social media posing as a college basketball star. That’s how he coerced the girl into sending him inappropriate pictures. On April 22nd Anderson was sentenced to felony probation in exchange for pleading guilty to using a minor for creation of child pornography and false impersonation. Just 5 days later Anderson was reportedly caught on a high school campus in direct violation of his probation. He was arrested and has a hearing set for May 25th.
